Students' Perspective

Students' Perspective

Students on their academic experience: motivation, expectations, and preparing for the future.
What the university experience looks like from the perspective of medical students and how they envision their professional future.
A study carried out on second-year students from the Faculty of Medicine offers a comprehensive insight into the drivers for selecting the medical field, the academic journey, and the key skills required for a successful professional transition.
For the majority of respondents, choosing medicine is a deeply personal decision, grounded in the alignment with their own aspirations and values. Students evaluate the overall learning experience, the quality of teaching, faculty guidance, and the educational infrastructure positively, emphasizing the importance of the balance between theory and practical applications.
Regarding their professional future, the competencies considered indispensable are the capacity for lifelong learning, practical skills, time management, communication, and teamwork. At the same time, students anticipate challenges related to a lack of experience and adapting to the actual demands of the labor market.
This early perspective shapes the journey from student to graduate and, ultimately, to professional.
