Alumni Perspective

Alumni on their professional paths: between vocation, skills, and adaptation
How alumni reflect on their path from university to residency and their transition into the professional workforce.
A study carried out among Faculty of Medicine alumni, currently serving as medical residents, offers comprehensive insights into the drivers, skill sets, and obstacles faced during their transition into professional practice.
For most respondents, choosing medicine was a personal decision, deeply linked to the alignment with their own aspirations and values. Professional integration is perceived as a complex process, where success depends not only on theoretical knowledge and practical skills but also on the capacity for lifelong learning, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Graduates identify the experience gained during their studies, personality traits, and the reputation of their Alma Mater as essential for employability, while also highlighting difficulties related to a lack of experience or adapting to the actual demands of the labor market.
👉 The ALUMNI community thus becomes the natural space for reflection, support, and professional continuity.
