Radiologists and medical imaging specialists, in congress at UMF Craiova The Romanian Society of Radiology and Medical Imaging (SRIMR) in partnership with the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova (UMF) organizes the National Congress of Radiology and Medical Imaging in Romania. The event will take place on 21-24 September 2023, at UMF and at the "Marin Sorescu" National Theatre in Craiova. Siemens Healthineers joins this year's edition as a Strategic Partner. The official opening will take place on Friday 22nd September 2023, at 18.30, at the National Theatre "MarinSorescu" in Craiova. After more than 20 years, specialists in the field of radiology and imaging from all university centres in Romania and all over Europe will meet in Craiova. We mention on behalf of the European Society of Radiology (ESR) Prof. Dr. Adrian Brady (Chair of the ESR Board of Directors, Ireland), Prof. Dr. Valerie Vilgrain (ESOR - European School of Radiology chairperson, France), Prof. Dr. Christian Loewe (National Societies Committee Chairperson, Austria), Prof. Dr. Emanuele Neri (Quality, Safety and Standards Committee Chairperson, Italy), Prof. Dr. Laura Oleaga (EDiR - European Diploma in Radiology, Spain), Peter Baierl (Executive Director ESR). On behalf of the European radiology societies will be present Prof. Dr. Marc Hermier (French Society of Radiology), Prof. Dr. Andrzej Cieszanowsk (President of the Polish Society of Radiology, Poland), Dr. Ferdinand Bauer (Germany), Prof. Dr. Yacov Sosna (President of the Radiological Society of Israel), Prof. Dr. Marga Semion (President of the Radiological Society of the Republic of Moldova). What is new this year is the ESOR VISITING PROFESSORSHIP PROGRAMME (Course on Advanced MR of the Abdomen), a pre-congress course, made possible by the European Society of Radiology. Among the activities of the congress we mention: Radiology ESR Experts, including members of the ESR Steering Committee, EDIR Session (European Diploma in Radiology), Escape Room, with medical imaging themes, with prizes for residents and young specialists, for which representatives of ESR and Young Radiologists will be present in the organization. Days of cardiology in Craiova

The University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova invites you, on Thursday, September 7, at 9.45 am, in the Aula Magna, to the opening of the second edition of the "Days of Cardiology in Craiova". Surgeons in congress at UMF Craiova

The third HEROES International Surgical Conference will take place on 15-17 June 2023, organized by the Romanian-Eleno-Surgical Association, the Romanian Academy of Medical Sciences and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova. The official opening will take place in the Aula Magna on Thursday, 15 June, at 19.00, preceded and followed by numerous workshops, masterclasses, debates on modern surgery. The scientific programme involves multiple specialties such as: general surgery; plastic and reconstructive burn surgery; cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, ENT, gynaecological surgery, urology, neurosurgery, paediatric surgery, thoracic surgery, trauma surgery, radiology, gastroenterology, oncology, pathology, etc. The Hellenic-Romanian Society of Surgery HEROES brings together specialized Greek and Romanian surgeons to cooperate in order to improve the quality of medical training and modernize the hospitalization of patients. Eco-Humanism and Sustainability in Healthcare and Medical Teaching

The University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova, in collaboration with ``The Doctor as a Humanist`` and ``Healthcare Without Harm – Europe``, is organizing its 2nd Symposium Medicine – Health – Humanism, on June 15, at 9:00 EST, in Amphitheater 311. This year`s edition will focus on Eco-Humanism and Sustainability in Healthcare and Medical Teaching. The event brings together experts from various fields, academic teaching staff, healthcare professionals and students and features international online speakers from Spain, Greece, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway and Romania.

African Cultural Day

The Association of African Students, UMF Craiova branch, organizes "African Culture Day", on May 6, 2023, from 14.00, in the Student Restaurant. A true celebration of identity and differences, the event highlights both a rich spiritual heritage and a multicultural and open present. Music, dance and culinary performances will bring a complex, vibrant culture closer. DJ Alex, Afri Kanza, Dorian Afro & Nobert will perform alongside the students. Over 150 students with origins on the African continent study at UMF Craiova. Many of them come from countries such as Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Nigeria, Uganda, Mauritania, Egypt, Congo, Kenya, Somalia and others.

Craiova Connects 2023. Gastro&ObGyn&Diab&Nutrition

On 6-9 April 2023, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova hosts the second edition of the Craiova Connects International Congress. This year's edition is organized exclusively on site and is focused on the following specialties: gastroenterology, obstetrics-gynecology, diabetes - nutritional diseases. The medical community can apply here: https://www.craiovaconnects.org/. During the four days, the scientific panels will bring together topics of major interest not only for physicians of the three specialties, to which the 2023 Craiova Connects edition is dedicated, but also for physicians in their related areas: internal medicine, ophthalmology, nephrology, cardiology, endocrinology, oncology, family medicine, nurses and more, as can be seen from the preliminary scientific program. The event will begin with 'Hands on training' on 6th April to support those interested in improving their skills in animal model digestive endoscopy and fetal morphological ultrasound. Plenary meetings are also scheduled to discuss common topics in gastroenterology, obstetrics and gynaecology, diabetes and nutritional diseases, as well as live broadcasts from the Gastroenterology Centre, the Gynaecology Simulation Centre and the Diabetes and Nutrition Simulation Centre. Debates & Drills A first this year is the creation of opportunities for young doctors, researchers and residents. As we want the best to join us in academic research and we want to encourage and support them, we are introducing two sessions in Craiova Connects that will take the form of competitions: one for young specialists and the second for residents. Both will bring prizes such as full support for the participation of young researchers in international congresses, but also the opportunity to practice alongside a chosen specialist (https://www.craiovaconnects.org/news-feed/) The Craiova Connects concept was launched last year on World Health Day. It brought together leading specialists from three medical specialties: Gastroenterology, Rheumatology and Dermatology. It was three days of intense work, with around 500 on-site participants and over 1000 online participants.
