Pathology of the oesophagus (3 hours)

  • Oesophageal syndrome.

  • Morphological abnormalities of the oesophagus.

Pathology of the stomach and duodenum (9 hours)

  • Dyspeptic syndromes.
  • Exploration of the stomach and duodenum.
  • Gastritis and gastropathies.
  • Gastric and duodenal ulcers.
  • Pathology of the operated stomach.
  • Gastric tumours.
  • Digestive haemorrhages.

Liver pathology (15 hours)

  • Diarrhea.
  • Exploration of the small bowel, colon and rectum.
  • Malabsorption syndrome.
  • Inflammatory bowel diseases.
  • Polyposis and diverticulosis.
  • Intestinal tuberculosis.
  • Intestinal parasitosis.
  • Irritable bowel syndrome.

Small bowel and rectocolonic pathology (9 hours)

  • Liver exploration.
  • Jaundice and colic.
  • Liver failure.
  • Portal hypertension.
  • Hepatic encephalopathy.

  • Autoimmune hepatitis.
  • Liver cirrhosis.
  • Liver diseases of genetic origin.
  • Alcoholic liver disease.

Pathology of the gallbladder, bile ducts and pancreas (9 hours)

  • Imaging exploration of the gallbladder and bile ducts
  • Biliary Lithiasis.
  • Acute and chronic cholecystitis.
  • Congenital anomalies of the bile ducts.
  • Benign lesions of the cholecyst and bile duct.
  • Malignant tumours of the cholecyst and bile ducts.
  • Imaging exploration of the pancreas.
  • Acute pancreatitis.
  • Chronic pancreatitis.
  • Pancreatic tumours.

               

     PRACTICAL INTERNSHIP

  • Clinical examination of patients with digestive disorders.
  • Preparation of the clinical observation sheet.
  • Establishing the plan for paraclinical investigations.
  • Interpretation of esogastroduodenal baritate radiographs, irigograms, digestive endoscopies, abdominal ultrasounds, biochemical, immunological and pathological examinations of patients with digestive diseases. 
  • Participation in the performance of diagnostic manoeuvres (ultrasounds, digestive endoscopies, etc.).
  • Monitoring the daily progress of patients in the wards and recording pathological changes encountered in the traineeship notebooks.
  • Participation in the preparation of the therapeutic plan for patients with digestive diseases.
  • Participation in ward visits, clinical guards and demonstrations.
  • Diagnostic and treatment exercises.
  • Presentation of reports with current data on special cases encountered in the clinic.
  • Participation in the preparation of medical documents at patient discharge and medical prescriptions.
  • Regular seminars including diagnostic and treatment issues in digestive diseases.
